Voici la petite histoire de ce pull / Here is the short story of this pattern.

Je voulais un pull cosy, chaud, agréable, en laine un peu plus épaisse qui permet de se lover dedans lorsqu’on a envie se reposer.
Et se reposer en Islande, ça veut dire notamment aller prendre des bains chauds. Le pays étant un pays volcaniques, il n’est pas rare de trouver des Hot Tubs, des piscines chauffées naturellement, des ruisseaux ou des petits lagons d’eau chaude.
Et lorsqu’on parle d’eau chaude, de repos, de détente, d’emblée, vient à l’esprit le Blue Lagoon (Bláa Lónið en islandais).

L’eau chargée de minéraux y est blanche opalescente, avec des reflets verts et bleus.

Les racines de l’inspiration se trouvaient ici … j’ai donc contacté Sophie pour qu’elle créée une couleur Blue Lagoon pour ce pull tout en confort. Pari réussi.

I wanted a cozy, warm and confortable DK sweater in which you can curl up when it is time to rest.
And one of the best way to rest in Iceland is to take hot baths. Iceland  being a volcanic country, it is not uncommon to find hot tubs, naturally heated pools, streams or small hot water lagoons.
And when you talk about hot water, rest and relaxation, you think immediately about the Blue Lagoon (Bláa Lónið in Icelandic).

The mineral-laden water is turbid white with green and blue highlights.

The roots of inspiration were here … so I contacted Sophie for a new color and she created Blue Lagoon color for this cozy sweater. Mission accomplished.

  Le coté cozy, volumineux du col est dû au point brioche, ce fameux point qui était utilisé pour faire les pulls de pêcheurs en Hollande. Son autre appellation est aussi les Fisherman Rib ou côtes anglaises.
Et pour une petite touche d’originalité en plus, le pull est asymétrique et souligne une hanche.

Thanks to brioche stitch the cowl is large and cozy. This famous stitch was used to make the Fishermen’s sweaters in Holland. The other name of brioche stitch is Fisherman Rib.
And for a touch of originality, this sweater is asymmetrical and emphasizes one hip.
